Can't vote Nov. 4? Vote early

By BRI JULIUS

Those who cannot vote on Nov. 4 have another option: vote early.

Early voting started on Tuesday and ends on Thursday, Oct. 30.

A total of 161 DeKalb citizens voted Tuesday at the DeKalb County Legislative Center, at 200 N. Main St. in Sycamore, said Sharon Holmes, DeKalb County Clerk and Recorder.

Holmes said the amount of early voters increases every year.

“Especially because of this election, everyone is interested,” Holmes said.

“One-hundred-sixty-one is a big day and we know it’s going to get busier.”

There are three nights when the center is open until 8 p.m. and Holmes is expecting buses to bring NIU students in to Sycamore to vote early.

No excuse is needed to vote early but to cast the ballot, the voter needs to go to the Legislative Center. Early voters are not able to mail-in ballots.

An electronic sample of the DeKalb County ballot is found under Election and Voting Information on dekalbcounty.org.
