An alleged gang member was found in possession of a loaded .32-caliber revolver during a traffic stop Saturday morning, police said.

Police arrested Paris L. Israel, 20, of Harvey, during a traffic stop for a registration violation in the 800 block of Greenbrier Road about 1:43 a.m. During the stop, police found the handgun belonging to Israel, who is a known member of the Black P-Stone street gang, according to DeKalb Police Reports.

A search into the gun found it was stolen from Georgia, said DeKalb Police Sergeant Bob Redel.

Israel was arrested and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and taken to DeKalb County Jail on $40,000 bond.
