For a third year, the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second Street, will transform into the underworld of an Egyptian goddess as The Amenti Haunted House opens its doors.

Amenti will “send you winding through 20 unique scenes on six different levels,” a news release said.

This year will also offer some fresh twists as well.

“There are several new scenes and an altered route,” said Alex Nerad, Egyptian Theatre operations manager.

Specific details on what’s new are being kept quiet due to the amount of work put into the haunted house, but it seems to be worth the wait. It takes nearly 100 volunteers and 2,500 hours to scare all of those who dare to enter.

This haunted house is not recommended for the faint of heart or those young of age.

“The Amenti is recommended for ages 13 and older due to intensity,” Nerad said.

General tickets for the haunted house are $10 and there are also VIP and group tickets available as well. The news release also stated that all proceeds from the event will contribute to the continuing operations of the Egyptian Theatre.

“This haunted house is inside a historic theatre which makes it unique to others,” Nerad said.

The Amenti Haunted House opens tonight and runs from 7-11 p.m. Oct. 24 - Oct. 26 and then again Oct. 29 - Nov. 1.
