Charles Albert, a sophomore at NIU and a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, was elected to the Executive Council of his fraternity during a leadership school held this summer at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

The Executive Council is the governing body of the fraternity.

Albert will serve as one of six undergraduate members on the ten-member executive board.

As the District III Archon, Albert will serve as the undergraduate representative for Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and western Ohio. The District Archon serves a term of two years.

Albert is a 2005 graduate of Glenbard West High School, where he was a member of the varsity soccer and tennis teams.

Albert is a journalism major with a minor in business. He also serves as the vice president for recruitment for the Interfraternal Council and is a member of MASIV (Men Against Sexual and Interpersonal Violence).

The Phi Kappa Psi chapter at NIU was established in April of 2007. Phi Kappa Psi is a men’s social organization that was founded in 1852 based on the idea of “The Great Joy of Serving Others.”

The fraternity has over 4,500 members and 70,000 living alumni with 101 chapters and colonies nationwide.
