The NIU women’s basketball team is set to tip-off its 2008-2009 campaign, as the Huskies host St. Xavier University tonight at the Convocation Center.

The game, NIU’s only exhibition game this season, is set to start at 7 p.m.

The Huskies are returning a veteran group this year, as four starters from last year are coming back, including three of their top four scorers from last season.

Figuring to lead the way for the Huskies this season are junior Kylie York and senior Jessie Wilcox, who averaged 10.9 and 10.3 points per game last season, respectively.

Tonight’s exhibition is the first of two home contests for the team this week.

The Huskies will begin their regular season schedule playing host to Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis on Friday at 7 p.m.
