University Police Blotter: Tuesday, Dec. 2

Oct. 17
• At 2:47 p.m., a victim reported someone took a laptop computer, an Xbox game console, and four game DVDs from the victim’s room in Grant North. There was no forced entry. After investigating, case is closed.
• At 5:39 p.m., two victims reported someone took their laptops from their room in Lincoln Hall when they left the room without locking it. Case is closed.

Nov. 15
• At 10:06 p.m., a camera was taken from the production room of the Convocation Center. Case is closed.

Nov. 25
• At 7:12 p.m., a group of NIU fans and a group of Navy fans began arguing in the East Stands during the football game. One of the Navy fans spit at an NIU student’s face, and a fight ensued. University Police broke up the fight. After investigating, officers arrested Michael G. Ibrahim, 21, of Champaign, for battery. Officers booked Ibrahim at the NIU Police Department, where he posted bond and was released.
• At 11:51 p.m., University Police on patrol in Neptune West noticed a party in one of the rooms. Later, after passing through again, the door opened and the officer saw a drinking game in progress. The officer referred two individuals to Judicial Affairs for underage drinking.

Nov. 26
• At 8:37 a.m., the staff from the child development lab in Gabel Hall reported that several items have been missing from the classroom over a period of a few weeks. Case is pending.

Nov. 29
• At 10:55 a.m., someone reported there was damage to a door handle to a room at Grant South. Despite the damage, the room is still secure. The residents of the room have to be contacted as to whether or not an unlawful entry or theft was attempted. Case is pending.

Nov. 30
• At 8:14 a.m., a victim reported someone used their credit card multiple times. Case is pending.
• At 4:47 p.m., a victim reported a checkbook was stolen at Grant South. Case is closed.
