Rain will continue to fall through Tuesday morning across northern Illinois, as the temperature remains at about 34 degrees.

The rain is then expected to change to snow Tuesday afternoon and evening. Several inches of snow could accumulate at this time.

A winter storm watch will remain in effect Tuesday through Tuesday night for north central Illinois, which primarily will affect NIU’s Rockford campus.

NIU offices are open, classes and events are being held as scheduled at all campus locations.

During these winter months, all students, faculty and staff are urged to use caution and personal judgment in their travels to and from campus.
