DeKALB | Target announced plans Tuesday to open a new Target store in DeKalb in October 2009.
The store will be constructed on the site of the existing store, 2555 Sycamore Road. To allow for completion of the new store, the existing building will close at the end of the business day on April 11 according to a press release.

The new store will offer guests new or updated amenities such as a Starbucks, Pizza Hut Express, Target CareSM, Target PharmacySM and Target PhotoSM. The new store also will feature an easy-to-shop layout.
The existing DeKalb Target first opened in July 1995. The corporation will work to employ all of the approximately 150 team members of the existing store at nearby Target locations and hopes to employ these team members at the new store when it reopens.

In the release, Target expressed regret to any inconvenience the temporary closing of this store may cause area guests. While the new store is under construction, would-be DeKalb Target patrons can shop at the following Target locations as well as Target.com:
South Elgin SuperTarget, 530 Randall Road, South Elgin, Ill. 60177
North Aurora Target, 1800 Orchard Gateway Blvd., North Aurora, Ill. 60542
Batavia Target, 115 N. Randall Road, Batavia, Ill. 60510
Elgin Target, 300 S. Randall Road, Elgin, Ill. 60123
