They don’t want to play, they just want to bang on the drum all day.
So Percussion, a Brooklyn-based quartet, will bring their unique form of music to NIU when they play the Music Building’s Recital Hall on Friday night.

The band, which has been called “astonishing and entrancing” by Billboard and “brilliant” by The New York Times, is attempting to add a fresh voice to what they call “funky, contemporary music.”

Equipped with instruments such as glockenspiels, toy pianos, vibraphones, marimbas and computerized sounds, So Percussion prides their music as both edgy and ancient, as it contains new sounds no one has heard before, along with classic musical structure.
The show beings at 8:00 p.m., and there is no cost of admission.
