Cortland man arrested and charged with...

Blackboard should become university-wide standard.
I’ve noticed in the past year that I have attended school here that a good majority of teachers do not use an online interface to keep resources for the class together and for assignments and grades.
Obviously Blackboard is ideal for all of these. Why would the school have a site dedicated to this for teachers and students and not make it mandatory for teachers to use?
Similar sites have subscription fees that students are forced to pay or they cannot get above a certain percent in the class because their teachers feel Blackboard is too complicated or insufficient.
For example, in UBUS 223 taught by Brad McDonald, it is basically mandatory to subscribe to an online site to pass the class. The highest attainable score without it is a 65 percent. To move on to other classes in that field, it is mandatory you pass with a C. It just miffs me when I have five classes and only one is available on Blackboard.
Whether any of this interests you or not, I’m not sure. I’m hoping it will. I think it’s a problem, and I am sure many students have a very similar opinion.
Sincerely,
Robert Heineman
