A gift shop in downtown DeKalb was robbed Thursday afternoon by two men with a knife, police said.

At about noon, two men entered the store and demanded money from the cash register of La Moreliana, 205 N. Sixth St. The employee gave the men an undisclosed amount of cash from the register at which point they ran from the store on foot, said DeKalb Police Lt. Gary Spangler. The two men were last seen running northbound on Sixth Street, and east on Oak Street.

The men are described as two black males, both wearing dark hoodies and jeans. The suspect with the knife was in his 30s and had his face covered with some type of dark scarf, Spangler said.

The knife was described as a large kitchen type knife, between eight and 12 inches long, he said.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the DeKalb Police Department at 815-748-8400.
