Hopes rise as the baseball season begins

Friday was officially the start of baseball season. Yes, pitchers and catchers are reporting to Spring Training around the league.

It came just in time. The misery of being a Bears fan the past two years is over, the bowl game disappointments are gone and now I can prepare for what is likely to be more disappointment when the Cubs win the division and lose in the first round——again.

But until that happens, here’s to every team being in the hunt and every fan having hope to taste that sweet October victory.

So bring out the boys of summer, lace up the spikes, and lets play ball.
