Beckham should stay in Italy

Let Beckham go.

Italian giant AC Milan wants to keep “superstar” David Beckham after receiving him on a temporary loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy in early January, but Major League Soccer has other plans.

The MLS has set a deadline for this transition to take place, and they are dead serious.
Too bad the deadline was Feb. 13 and both sides are still in discussions.

At this point in time, both teams are at a stalemate due to a disagreement on costs for the transfer.

The MLS is holding on to a dream that began two years ago, but it’s time to let it go. He wants out, Milan wants him and L.A. could use the cash.

Beckham was brought in to save MLS and soccer in the U.S., but did he accomplish what he was set out to do?

Not a chance.

In two years with L.A., Beckham has played in 30 games, scoring only five goals.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy finished with the third worst record in 2007 and tied for the worst record this past season. His injuries might have had something to do with it, but that’s neither here nor there.

Since L.A. loaned the superstar to Milan in January, Beckham has performed well with two goals in seven games.

It’s a win-lose situation for MLS if Beckham leaves for Milan. The MLS will be getting rid of a failed experiment, but it will also lose some credibility with its “strict deadline.”

Milan is doing L.A. and MLS a favor by taking Beckham off of their hands. They should be appreciative, put this mishap in the past and move on with the talent they had all along.
