The Huskies began Spring Break at the Ben Brown Invitational in Fullerton, Calif. where there was no team scoring.

Senior Jennene Anthony set a new NIU javelin record with a throw of 134-09. Fellow senior Shoshanna Brown grabbed second place in the triple jump with a leap of 37-4. In the high jump, junior Jessica Statler took first place honors with a jump of 5-7.

NIU stayed in California to train for the Northridge Invitational in Northridge, which was this past weekend.

Statler put out another stellar performance with a second first place finish in the high jump with a leap of 5-6. Sophomore Nancy Nieto finished in second in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:16.05.

The 4x200-meter relay team, comprised of sophomores Rasheta Butler and Kaylee Walters and juniors Brittany Houghton and Rochelle Muskeyvalley, crossed the finish at 1:43.22 for second place.
