New Restaurants coming with all the fixins'

Many new businesses are opening in DeKalb. Here’s a sneak peak at what is open and what will be opening throughout the city in months to come.

F&J’s
890 Pappas Drive
Sunday through Wednesday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Thursday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
Food? Keeping it simple with four menu items; Hot dogs, Polish sausage, tamales and homemade fries
Why students should care: “This hot dog place has an old school touch to it,” said manager Joe Deland. “It’s all about freshness here.”

Detox Bar and Grill, Inc.
1000 W. Lincoln Highway
Plan to open in April
Food? Pizza, sandwiches and more
Why students should care: “Our prices are under Huskies Pizza’s price with the same size slice,” said assistant manager Matt Legg.

The Annie Glidden Pie and Pancake House
131 N. Annie Glidden Road
Plan to open by Easter weekend
Food? Serving a menu similar to Baker’s Square
Why students should care: “If tenants of Mason Properties show proof of residency, they will receive 5 percent off,” said owner Jim Mason. “It doesn’t matter if they bring friends; their bill will still have 5 percent off.”

Golden Thai Jasmine Restaurant
251 E. Lincoln Highway
Plan to open early May
Food? Curry, pad thai and more
Why students should care: “The menu is something we started from scratch,” said owner Joseph Curry Jr.
