On the eve of the MAC Championships the NIU gymnastics team saw two its members honored by the Mid-American Conference.

Sophomore Holly Reichard was named the MAC Gymnast of the Year for her performances, leading the Huskies is nearly every event this season. She is the second Huskie to win the award, the first since Kirstina Campos in 2003. Reichard was a two-time MAC Gymnast of the week this season and ranks atop the conference leaderboard in all-around scores of 39 or better.

Jennifer Naughton was also named the MAC Senior of the Year. The reigning MAC Gymnast of the Week and MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week has competed in the vault, balance beam and floor exercise throughout her career at NIU. At the Illinois Classic last week she recorded a career high 9.925 score on the beam and won the state title for the event. The score was also the highest score for any NIU gymnast in any event this season.
