Local community leaders endorse Povlsen for mayor

As a business person, I am aware that the next four years will be extremely challenging for the next mayor. I have watched Kris Povlsen for many years and have found him up to the challenge.
Kris has a sense of fair play, an ability to listen to people and decision-making skills based on objective criteria. He has worked to promote business development, to expand the tax base and to provide jobs. Povlsen was the longest serving alderman prior to being appointed by his peers on the DeKalb City Council to the acting mayor’s position. This act of the council speaks volumes about the respect the aldermen have for Povlsen’s leadership ability. He has also proved through his voting record that he is not afraid to make tough decisions.

At community gatherings with people of different political views, I have described my support for Kris and found the consensus of opinion is that Kris Povlsen is the best choice to lead DeKalb through these difficult times. For instance, Herb Rubin and I are far apart on many political issues and are active in different political parties. Yet, what we have in common is that we both love our community and both support Kris Povlsen.

This election must not be about partisan politics. In that spirit, I have asked Herb Rubin to sign this endorsement letter with me. I urge all of the voters in DeKalb, whether Republican, Democrat or Independent, to vote for a person with experience and a sense of fair play who has worked hard to bring about a better community for DeKalb. That person is Kris Povlsen.

Aren't these the SAME people that put in that bogus PAY ice skating rink and THEN posted a sign we could no longer skate on the Lagoon? I don't think we need more people elected like that.
