The rant

Kudos to you ESPN.com.

Of all the sports cities in the country, New York, L.A., etc., you chose our beloved Chi-town as the focus of the first city-related ESPN Web site, ESPNChicago.com.

I like to think of this as making up for all the lost attention from the East Coast-biased ESPN.
And ESPN.com writer Scoop Jackson wrote a fantastic column explaining, in his opinion, why Chicago was the obvious choice for this first-of-its-kind Web site.

Maybe Midwest sports will finally get their due time thanks to this bold move.
