University Police Blotter: April 20

April 17

At 1:17 a.m., University Police observed three intoxicated females leaving Grant North. The officers checked to see if they were OK and learned two of them were underage. The three were counseled and released. Case is closed.

At 1:46 a.m., University Police on patrol at Grant South smelled burnt cannabis coming from one of the rooms. After locating the room, officers knocked and spoke with the three individuals in the room. After speaking with them, officers learned the owner of the room was the only party involved in illegal activities. The owner was referred to Judicial Affairs for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

At 2:35 a.m., someone reported disorderly conduct in Douglas Hall. Case is pending.

At 11:10 a.m., someone reported she was alarmed and disturbed by a cell phone conversation she overheard at Lincoln Hall. During the conversation, the victim relayed that physical harm was being threatened against her. After an investigation, University Police learned the offender did not intend to follow through. Case is closed.

At 11:37 a.m., an individual came into the NIU Police Department to report a domestic battery. Case is pending.

April 18

At 2 a.m., University Police responded to a report of disorderly conduct at Grant North. Two female individuals were reportedly making threatening remarks to the complainant. The individuals were referred to Judicial Affairs.

At 2:05 a.m., a victim reported someone took items from his or her room at Neptune West. Case is pending.

At 2:52 a.m., a victim reported someone took items under $300 from his or her room at Neptune West. Case is pending.

At 2:13 p.m., a victim reported someone damaged his or her vehicle while it was parked in Lot 29 earlier that day between 1:40 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. A side mirror was missing along with scratches on the door. With no further leads, case is closed.
