Larry Clark is renowned as one of the best linebackers to come through NIU.

Clark was named to the NIU All-Century team in 1999 and the All-Time Huskie Stadium team in 1995.

He ranks No. 3 at NIU for career tackles with 446. Clark’s 189 tackles in the 1972 season is second for the most tackles in a season. He also holds the NIU record for tackles in a game with 29 against Fresno State in 1972.

From 1970 to 1972 he led the Huskies in tackles.

Clark led the Huskies to their first winning season at 1-A in 1972 after an 88-yard interception return to seal a 22-13 win versus Long Beach State at Anaheim Stadium. The team went 7-4 that season.

Clark was drafted in the fifth round of the 1973 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and also spent time with the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots.
