No. 45: Beth Schrader

Beth Schrader can be found all over NIU softball’s pitching record book.

In her career, Schrader compiled a career record of 68-31 with 334 strikeouts, 31 shutouts and a career ERA of 0.98.

Schrader led the 1988 College World Series team to a 35-11 record and tied for seventh at the World Series. That season she went 24-6 with a 0.58 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 31 games played.

Schrader was a three-time College Sports Information Directors of America Academic
All-American team from 1987 to 1989. In 1989, her cumulative 3.52 GPA earned her first-team honors. She was also a member of the CoSIDA District Five All-Academic team from 1987 to 1989.

She was first-team All-North Star Conference performer. She graduated from NIU with seven records and went on to play pro ball in New Zealand and also played for the Women’s Professional Fastpitch league with the Blaze and threw the WPF’s first complete game shutout in 1995. She also participated in the 1994 Olympic Trials.
