Paul ‘Doctor D’ Dawkins was able to hit shots from all over the court: the baseline, out front, on corner and off the dribble. The 6-foot-5-inch swingman made first team All-MAC, MAC Player of the Year, first team USBWA All-District and HM Sporting New All-American.

Dawkins ranks No. 4 on the all-time NIU scoring list, averaging 26.7 points a game during the 1978-79 season. As a senior, he posted over 30 points eight times and 40 points twice. ‘Dr. D’ is also a three-time All-MAC selection.

Dawkins was taken in the 10th round of the 1979 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz where he played from 1979-1981.
