Joe Zimka set an NCAA record for goals allowed average with just 0.21 goals a game allowed. During that same 2006 season, Zimka went 754 minutes and eight straight matches without a goal allowed.

That season he led the NCAA in save percentage (.955) and the MAC in shutouts (11), save percentage (.968) and goals against average (0.16). Zimka helped lead the Huskies to the NCAA Tournament and a first round win over Loyola.

With the efforts of Zimka and head coach Steve Simmons, the Huskies have risen to a MAC powerhouse. This year, Zimka’s senior season, the Huskies lost in the MAC title game to Akron.
