No. 29: Mike Korcek

Mike Korcek is the longest-tenured head Sports Information Director (22 years) and office employee (34 years) in Huskie history. He directed a Sports Information department that won national and regional honors for excellence and services that include 50 CoSIDA awards including “Best in Nation.” Korcek led the Heisman Trophy campaigns of LeShon Johnson and Michael “The Burner” Turner and is also a member of the NIU All-Century Team. Although retired, Korcek still remains the NIU Sports Information Director Emeritus.
