University Police Blotter: Thursday, April 23

April 21
• At 4:26 p.m., a victim reported a burglary from a motor vehicle parked in Lot W. One of the windows was broken. Taken from the car was a GPS device, a radar detector and an iPod. Case is pending.

• At 7:45 p.m., University Police on patrol in Lot J noticed two individuals in a parked car. When one of the individuals exited the car, a cloud of smoke along with the smell of cannabis came with him. The officer later searched the car finding a cannabis pipe. Both individuals admitted to owning and using the cannabis. The officer arrested Brandon T. Adams, 19, of Cary, and Matthew D. Ruttenburg, 19, of Barrington, for possession of drug paraphernalia. The officer booked Adams and Ruttenburg at the NIU Police Department, where they posted bond and were released.
