Last updated on 04/22/2009 at 10:47 p.m.

Kenny Battle was dubbed by Dick Vitale “a dunking machine” and “The King of the 360” by Brent Musburger. Battle was the youngest NIU and MAC player to reach 1,000 points, doing so in just 50 games. He also received All-American honors from The Associated Press and the Sporting News and was also named All-MAC. Battle electrified fans from 1984 to 1986 before transferring to Illinois.

In 1989, he was drafted in the first round of the Detroit Pistons. He was voted onto the NIU All-Decade, All-Time Evans Field House and NIU All-Century teams.
