No. 11: Carol Owens

Carol Owens is the only player, male or female, in NIU history to have over 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Owens is a two-time Kodak District Four All-American and the North Star Conference Player of the Year in 1989-90.

She was a three-time team captain and MVP of the 26-5 team that went to the NCAA Tournament and finished No. 17 in The Associated Press and No. 21 in the USA Today poll in 1989-90. In 117 games, Owens posted 2,102 points, 1,038 rebounds and 39 double-doubles. Owens can still be found at NIU as the current women’s basketball head coach.
