Now that the city has a skating rink, do you plan to use it? |

Thursday’s column by Buddy Hanson motivated me to write with some information.
Where to begin? LaRouche was sentenced to 15 years by a federal jury in Virginia (not by President Bush Sr.) and was released on parole (not by President Clinton) after serving five years of his sentence. He was convicted on credit card fraud, soliciting loans from vulnerable elderly people and also mail fraud. This is kind of ironic, considering his professional “activists” were standing in front of the post office.
Furthermore, his defense attorney was none other than Ramsey Clark, former U.S. attorney general who defended Saddam Hussein and has created Stalinist groups like the IAC (International Action Committee).
Anyway, do yourselves a favor and really look into this guy and why he is sending activists to our campus. I have a feeling we have not seen the last of his group. It’s important that we know his group’s intentions before we praise them for being “anti-war” or “anti-Cheney” or whatever.
I was also a little confused at the end of your column when you said that the activists “Morris and Clark are out in the world putting in overtime,” when in fact, since they are, as you said, “full-time political activists working for the LaRouche Political Action Committee.” Doing their job at 2 p.m. in the afternoon doesn’t seem like overtime.
Furthermore, if you want to get the truth about someone, don’t get your information from their Web site. That just seems like a no-brainer to me.
I think a solid look into LaRouche PAC history and current agenda could make a really good article. Just my perspective.
