ROTC organizational day offers respite

Even soldiers have to take it easy once in a while.

After a semester of training exercises and leadership courses, the ROTC program is holding an organizational day on Friday as a way for the cadets to unwind.

“It’s to reward the cadets for all of their hard work this semester,” said junior marketing major Jesse Tober, adding that the cadets also use the time to wish each other well before the summer.

While the event is catered toward the cadets, Tober said non-ROTC students are invited to attend as well.

“If you want information, this is going to be one of the best days to do it,” Tober said.

He said that all of the officers in charge of the program will be there. In addition to food and sporting activities, the event will also feature a rock wall for climbing.

The event is being held from 1 to 5 p.m. in the tailgating field near Huskie Stadium. In case of rain, it will be moved to the Chick Evans Field House.

Students with more questions should contact Captain Eric Weyenberg at 815-753-6234.
