Difficulties arise when juggling work, school

My one year on the Northern Star sports section has arguably been the most fun year of college. When I became sports editor this semester, things were far busier and hectic.
The good thing was that I had the chance to work with the best staff in this newspaper and enjoyed every second of it. So I would like to thank the sports staff for their hard work this semester.
While on this staff, I had a chance to do things I never thought were possible at a college newspaper. The end of this semester I had the opportunity to interview a Top 20 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, Larry English, and completed a semester-long project of the Top 50 Huskies of All-Time.
As a journalist, I grew from these experiences and I don’t think I could have gotten the same ones anywhere else. The staff accomplished a lot this past year, and it was nice to play a small role in what has been accomplished.
To end, I would again like to thank everyone I worked with not only in sports, but the rest of the paper, including the campus news staff, where I started. So thanks again for everything, its been a fun two years at the Northern Star and a fun four years at NIU. I only wish that I had one more year to accomplish more than I have at the Star.
Now to enter that wonderful job market that is available for journalism majors.
