A Sandwich man was arrested after police say he burglarized a liquor store Tuesday morning.

At about 9 a.m., Edmund A. Miera, 31, allegedly broke into DeKalb Liquor Mart, 1352 E. Dresser Road, after cutting the power to the store and entering through a window. Miera then allegedly took cash and cigarettes before fleeing the store, said DeKalb Police Sgt. Bob Redel.

At about 4 p.m., Aurora police found Miera passed out in his car along with proceeds from the burglary, according to a DeKalb Police Department news release.

Through video surveillance from stores around the liquor store, police were able to arrest Meira and transported him to DeKalb County Jail, Redel said.

Miera was charged with burglary in DeKalb, and driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance in Aurora.
