The long-dormant Campus Cinema, 1015 Blackhawk Rd, reopened Friday under new management.

Rick Occhipinti, co-owner of the theatre, said opening weekend was successful and he hopes that business will pick up even more once students return for the fall semester.

Occhipinti named some improvements that have been made to the theatre, like lower prices on concessions.

“We’re also going to get a credit card machine,” Occhipinti said.

He hopes that the theatre’s new Web presence will drive customers as well. The theatre showtimes and information can be found at campuscinema.us.
