NIU came into the 2008 MAC tournament as the sixth-seed, but left after one game.
But 2-0 defeat in the first round by No. 3 Eastern Michigan sent NIU back to DeKalb.
Entering 2009, the Huskies will get a chance to get revenge against the Eagles as they host EMU on Oct. 18.

But before EMU, and before the MAC play, NIU will play a nine game out-of-conference schedule.

It will start with an exhibition game at Northwestern. The Huskies will continue to be on the road for about the next month, traveling to through Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri and Indiana to take on opponents.

NIU finally hosts its first game of the season on Sept. 13 against Loyola. That game starts a seven match home stand, which includes the MAC season opener against Bowling Green on Sept. 25.

After the seven home games, the Huskies will hit the road for another two games, then come back to DeKalb for two home matches and finish the season with three more road games.
The MAC tournament will begin on Nov. 1 with campus sites games, with the semifinals starting on Nov. 6.
