DeKalb police blotter for Aug. 31

At 12:30 p.m. Thursday, DeKalb Police were called to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road for an alleged theft. Police arrested Shanelle D. Simoneaux, 21, of DeKalb and charged her with retail theft. Police also arrested Antoine T. Hicks, 25, of DeKalb and charged him with possession of cannabis. They were later released on bond.

At 11:39 p.m. Friday, DeKalb Police were called to the 1200 block of Lincoln Highway for a loud party complaint. Police arrested Brent C. Stafford, 20, of DeKalb and charged him with attempt obstructing justice and unlawful consumption of alcohol as a minor. He was later released on bond.

At 11:01 p.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police saw a vehicle in the 1000 block of Hillcrest Drive lose control and spin out. Police learned the driver, Daniel B. Maerker, 19, of Oak Lawn was under the influence of alcohol. Maerker was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI over .08, illegal transportation of alcohol and speeding too fast for conditions. He was later released on bond.

At 1:11 a.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of Lincoln Highway after the officer learned the owner of the vehicle had a suspended license. Police arrested Kevin Buford, 27, of DeKalb for driving with a suspended license. He was later released on bond.

At 2:04 a.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police were called to the 800 block of Regent Drive for a possible fight. Police arrested Hassan A. Kurdi, 20, of Oak Lawn and charged him with two counts of battery and resisting a police officer. He was later released on bond.

At 12:18 a.m. Sunday, DeKalb Police stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of N. Annie Glidden Road for no tail lights. Police arrested the driver, Martin J. Quinonez, 24, of Chicago for not having a valid driver’s license. He was later released on bond.
