Kent State (1-0) Doug Martin 2008 (4-8)

Akron (0-1) J.D. Brookhart 2008 (5-7)
Going into Beaver Stadium and facing Joe Paterno’s Nittany Lions isn’t an easy task as Akron found out during their 31-7 loss to Penn State. The Zips abandoned the running game after five attempts for 28 yards,
Ohio (0-1) Frank Solich 2008 (4-8)
Four turnovers by the Connecticut offense weren’t enough for Ohio to slip by the Huskies. The Bobcats only converted three times on third down during their 23-16 loss.
Buffalo (1-0) Turner Gill 2008 (8-6)
A game that produced 22 combined penalties saw the Bulls hold on for a 23-17 victory as UTEP killed their own comeback drive with back to back penalties to take them out of the redzone. The Buffalo offense rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
