"Back to the '80s" rocks the Egyptian Theatre
“Public Enemies” is a good gangster flick,...

Prop comedy king Scott “Carrot Top” Thompson is not really known as the funniest comedian by today’s standards.
He is never on Comedy Central for his stand-up routine, he is hardly ever in any TV shows or movies and in fact, Carrot Top’s public appearances are as sporadic and random as his trademark curly red hair.
His sporadic sightings may be due because of his nightly routine at the Luxor in Las Vegas or just because of his terrible acting and washed up effect that he seems to emanate.
Either way, when Carrot Top does make random appearances outside of his comedy routine in Vegas, they are usually short and warmly entertaining bits featured on better comedic shows, which seem to use him for a novelty effect.
His appearances are so random that it makes me wonder, “Where in the World will Carrot Top surface next?” Since I can’t predict the future, lets look back at the top four appearances made by the prop comedy king.
4.) “Family Guy”- When Peter finds and disrespects an Indian skull, only Carrot Top would be the one to find it in the garbage and use it as a prop. This was a completely random appearance pointing out Carrot Top’s unbelievable fame, like when the Griffins arrive at “Carrot Top manor,” a little over the top to think the prop comedian is living like that. This is one of the few appearances of Carrot Top that aid his comedic appeal and show that the washed-up comedian may still have a few tricks up his sleeve.
3.) “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”- When Jay Leno was hosting “The Tonight Show,” Carrot Top made frequent and quick appearances, such quick acts that if the viewer blinked they would have missed his enjoyable and small routine. He’d get up on stage, do a quick bit and be off as if saying to the viewers, “Hey, I am still alive and doing funny things.”
2.) “The Comedy Central Roast of Flava Flav”- Not only was it a roast of the biggest joke in rap but featured the biggest joke in the stand up comedy, a fact that all roasters seemed to point out. If the roasters weren’t making fun of Flava Flav, they were knocking jokes left and right about Carrot Top. Luckily for everyone, he has big shoulders and was able to take the comments as jokes. Not to mention when it was his turn to roast Flava Flav he totally bombed pretty much every joke on his list.
1.) “The Hangover”- The 2009 summer blockbuster had it all. It had Mike Tyson, a mystery baby, a tiger and a well-written script. There was even a photomontage at the end featuring Carrot Top partying with the cast on their adventurous night, a comedic sucker punch that no one saw coming. This takes the cake of Carrot Top appearances because not only was it funny to see the redhead blow coke and mess around with the other characters in the movie, but it was completely random and seemed unplanned yet hysterical.
It turns out that Carrot Top’s best joke is his life as the most over-appreciated comedian.
