Aug. 27

At 2:20 p.m., University Police received a report of harassment by telephone at the Office of Emergency Planning and Management. After investigating all leads, case is closed.

Oct. 3

At 4:29 p.m., University Police received a report of a theft at Huskie Stadium. A student had been warned not to leave her bag unattended but did anyway and it went missing. Case is unfounded.

Oct. 13

At 7:17 a.m., University Police responded to a report of damage to property at Lincoln Hall. Someone had damaged a glass wall in a common area. Case is pending.

At 3:48 p.m., University Police responded to Douglas Hall for a possible battery. Two people were arguing, and one struck the other. Officers arrested Brian Avilez, 18, of Waukegan, for battery. Avilez was booked the NIU Police Department and released on bond.

At 9:33 p.m., University Police patrolling Central Park near Douglas Hall gave a verbal warning to an individual for possession of cannabis.

At 9:36 p.m., University Police responded to Douglas Hall. An individual allegedly took property from someone else to settle a debt. The owner of the property called the police and resisted. Officers arrested Chase Teberg, 20, of Crystal Lake, for battery, theft and possession of cannabis. Teberg was booked at the NIU Police Department and transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 10:45 p.m., an individual reported her cell phone missing from Lincoln Hall. Case is pending.
