Campus police blotter for Oct. 16

Oct. 13
At 9:33 p.m., University Police patrolling Central Park gave a verbal warning for possession of cannabis.

At 1:10 p.m., University Police at Stevenson North encountered an individual who had been banned from NIU. Officers arrested Chase Teberg, 20, of Crystal Lake, for criminal trespass. Teberg was booked at the NIU Police Department and transported to DeKalb County Jail.

At 5:43 p.m., University Police received a report of battery. The battery occurred near the East Lagoon. Case is pending.

At 6:52 p.m., University Police responded to Lincoln Hall to investigate possible drug activity. When allowed into the suspected room, one of the occupants, Mario Howard, 18, of Darien, was arrested for possession of cannabis and a controlled substance. Howard was booked at the NIU Police Department and transported to DeKalb County Jail.

At 10:38 p.m., University Police received a report of a stolen purse at Lincoln Hall. Case is pending.

At 11:38 p.m., a theft was reported at the Recreation Center. Two individuals left items in an unlocked locker and the items were missing when they returned. Case is pending.

At 11:49 p.m., University Police encountered an individual outside Grant North who was smoking cannabis. He admitted to possessing a small amount of cannabis and was referred to Judicial Affairs.
