Delaware State Hornets loses two games in one day

What could be worse for a football team than losing a game this past week?

How about losing two games in one day.

That’s the feat that Delaware State pulled off Saturday.

So I know what you’re asking: how does one team lose two games in one day?

Do you split the squad up, like in spring training for baseball? Or do you send the team to one
site and hope for a win?

Nope. The Hornets found a whole new way to pull off the two-for-one special.

You see, the Michigan Wolverines dangled $550,000 in front of the Hornets to play this Saturday. The only catch: Delaware State already had a conference game set against North Carolina A&T for that date.

So what did the Hornets do? Well what every Football Championship Series team would do: forfeit the conference game, take the money and, oh yeah, lose to Michigan 63-6.

Sounds like a win-win to me, right?
