The Sycamore City Council met Monday and passed a few new pieces of legislation.
Council adopted two ordinances pertaining to Pastor Scott Trandel and the Sycamore Victory Church in order for it to open a church at 505 DeKalb Ave.
One ordinance rezoned the area from M-1 Light Manufacturing District to C-2 Central Business District. Previous zoning regarded former businesses in the area generations ago, said Sycamore City Manager Bill Nicklas. The new zoning would allow a church to be established with a special use permit. Such a permit was approved by the council as well, allowing the Sycamore Victory Church to be established at this location.
The council also passed an ordinance which would allow for revisions to the City of Sycamore
Unified Development Ordinance. Such revisions were worked through by Nicklas and Lyle Doty, Building Commissioner and Zoning Officer. All revisions were listed on the agenda. Mayor Ken Mundy thanked Nicklas and Doty for their attention to detail with these house-keeping revisions to the UDO.
