St. Charles East High School is closing its doors from Wednesday through Friday after more than 900 students stayed home sick with flu-like symptoms.
School officials say the students showed a variety of symptoms on both Monday and Tuesday, but there were no confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus. Officials say their absences were disrupting the normal operations at the school.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, Farmersville Grade School in Montgomery County was also closed Tuesday.
LaSalle County officials closed Serena Grade School after 69 students called in sick or went
home with flu-like symptoms on Monday.
