Campus police blotter for Oct. 21

Oct. 19
At 12:54 a.m., University Police received a report of a missing vehicle. While officers were investigating, the suspect who allegedly took the vehicle was spotted in Lot E near Anderson Hall. Officers engaged in a foot pursuit and arrested Loren Goatcher, 24, of Rochelle, and charged him with burglary from a motor vehicle, criminal trespass to a vehicle, motor vehicle theft and resisting an officer. Goatcher was booked at the NIU Police Department and transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 3:54 p.m., University Police received a report of criminal sexual assault at Stevenson North. Case is pending.

At 8:03 p.m., University Police responded to Douglas Hall for a reported theft of a cell phone. After a search for the phone turned up nothing, case is closed.
