The protestors supporting Grady are guilty of the same accusations they made

I commend the NIU students featured in the October 21st cover story for protesting in support of Chief Grady as he goes through his review. I respect you for getting out and taking action in regards to something you’re passionate about.

However, I couldn’t help but choke on the irony a little bit when I read that “’the editorial was cowardly with no names and was filled with criticisms with no evidence,’ the representative from the BSU, who wished to not have his name published, said.”

I have no horse in this race — but as an observer, I have more respect for the quality, eloquence, and fairness of NIU Police Sgt. Holland’s October 13 letter to the editor than I do for protesters who make anonymous, incorrect assertions and sensational, unsupported accusations, much like they accuse the Northern Star of doing.

We’re all intelligent people here; let’s get away from “lynch mob” and have a more constructive conversation.
