"Back to the '80s" rocks the Egyptian Theatre
Two charged in multi-state theft case

Regarding Desmond Lawe’s story about the Black Student Union meeting on Oct. 21, he mentioned that I attended the meeting but didn’t make any comment.
As the State Representative for NIU and its students, I attended the meeting to visit with members and hear the opinions of those in attendance.
I left the meeting after an hour to attend another student meeting on campus.
I am very concerned that fairness and due process be followed in any allegations about the conduct of a university employee.
My interest in the Black Student Union, as with other student organizations, is to understand the concerns and opinions of students, faculty and staff so that I may represent and work for the best interests of the campus community.
I am always available to respond to questions and meet with constituents.
I have confidence in the blue ribbon committee formed by NIU President John Peters to investigate the NIU police chief’s conduct and encourage all who have information relevant to the investigation to share it with the committee so that they can present their findings in this matter as quickly as possible.
Bob Pritchard
State Representative for portions of DeKalb, Ogle and LaSalle Counties
