• At 3:52 p.m., University Police received a report of a theft of a folder containing bank items. The folder was taken from a counter in Grant South. After following all leads, case is closed.

Oct. 28
• At 10:21 a.m., University Police received a report of damage to a vehicle parked in Lot J near Grant Towers. Case is pending.

• At 12:03 p.m., University Police received a report of a theft of a debit card and fraudulent use of the card. Case is pending.

• At 6:30 p.m., a resident in Douglas Hall reported that someone took his keys while he showered. Case is pending.

• At 11:09 p.m., University Police patrolling Neptune West encountered an individual who was acting suspiciously. Upon questioning, the individual revealed a small amount of cannabis. Officers arrested Gregory Holmes, 19, of Chicago, and charged him with possession of cannabis. Holmes was booked at the NIU Police Department and was released on bond.
