M. Ward's 'Hold Time' shines in its genre
"Back to the '80s" rocks the Egyptian Theatre

It didn’t take long for junior transfer Xavier Silas to make an impact on the NIU men’s basketball program.
Silas was dominant Sunday afternoon in the Huskies’ 93-59 exhibition win over Aurora.
The transfer from Colorado led all scorers with 30 points in the game, while also chipping in six rebounds and a block.
NIU led from the get–go and didn’t look back.
The Huskies shot nearly 50 percent from the field in the game.
Juniors Sean Kowal and Jeremy Landers joined Silas in double-digit scoring, with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Kowal also led the Huskies in rebounding with 11 boards. NIU dominated the paint with rebounding, holding a 52-27 edge.
“We certainly saw some very good things out there today, and some that we will put a point of focus on in practice this week; we have to take a look at the film,” NIU head coach Ricardo Patton said in a press release. “We were a good offensive team last year, and I don’t think it will be an issue for us to score effectively this season. We did some really good things on the offensive end, and Xavier showed how he understands how to score the basketball within our offense.”
Chris McMath led Aurora with 18 points, while also shooting 3-for-4 from behind the three-point line. Guards Dusty Magee and Shane Roland also chipped in double-digit scoring efforts, with 15 and 12 points, respectively.
The Huskie defense showed a strong effort on their end of the court, holding the Spartans to 31.6 percent shooting from the field.
