A Chicago man was arrested early Sunday morning on alleged battery.

Terrence U. Thruman, 21, is being held at the DeKalb County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Thruman was arrested and charged with two counts of battery around 1:41 a.m. Sunday.
Lt. Gary Spangler said a suspect was witnessed verbally harassing the victim in the 700 block of Regent Drive.

“At that point, the victim’s boyfriend stepped in and the argument became physical,” Spangler said.

Spangler said the victim then tried to separate the two men when Thruman allegedly struck the woman in the face, causing her to become disoriented. The victim fell and hit her head on the ground causing her to lose consciousness, according to a DeKalb Police report.

Spangler said the victim was transported to Kishwaukee Community Hospital, 1 Kish Hospital Drive.

Thruman fled the scene on foot shortly after the incident, according to the report. A witness gave police the license plate number of the car for the group of Thruman’s friends who also left the scene, according to the report.
