DeKalb Police are searching for a suspect involved in the discharging of a handgun outside Campus Club, 1000 W. Lincoln Highway Sunday morning.

Lt. Gary Spangler said a witness saw a large crowd gathered in front of the gas station near Campus Club.

Spangler said the witness saw a suspect wearing a rainbow colored jacket and a black baseball cap attempt to place a handgun under a vehicle parked at Campus Club.

Spangler said at that point the gun went off and a bullet struck another car in the parking lot. The suspect then fled the scene running southeast in the parking lot.

Spangler said the police did recover the gun and a bullet from the scene and were taken into evidence.
