DeKalb Police arrested two men accused of aggravated robbery and theft Friday afternoon.
Kent Brown, 19, of Dolton and Gregory Carter, 21, of DeKalb are being held in the DeKalb County Jail on $75,000 bond each.
Brown and Carter are both charged with aggravated robbery, a Class 1 Felony, and theft from person, a Class 3 Felony.
At 1:33 p.m. Friday, four subjects came to the DeKalb Police Department, 200 S. Fourth St, and reported a robbery in the 500 block of S. Fifth Street, according to a DeKalb Police Department press release.
Lt. Gary Spangler said two suspects took four cell phones from the victims then fled on foot. The release said one of the suspects asked to use the cell phone of one of the victims. Then one of the suspects threatened to shoot the other victims if they did not give their cell phones, although no gun was displayed, the release said.
Brown and Carter were later found at 505 1/2 S. Fifth St. at 4:30 p.m., when police were able to trace the phones to the suspects, Spangler said.
Spangler said the description given by the victims matched the suspects “very closely.”
