“Hallway squatters” cause inconvenient traffic for students
NIU, stand up!
Like many other students, I attempt to get to class on time, but I am not going so early that I practically set up camp in the halls.
I’m sure this happens in all buildings, but it seems to be a bit of a phenomena in the Psych/CompSci building. I find myself quite frequently having to bob and weave around the “hallway squatters.”
Some at least sit “Indian style,” but others have their legs stretched straight out in front of them.
To you straight-leggers I say, really? I rarely see attempts to move when others are coming and I wonder why you cannot muster the ability to pull-in.
Literally, only ‘one lane’ of traffic can get through at a time when classes let out because of the “hallway squatters.”
All I ask is that you just stand up, let others through, and be considerate.
Do your last-minute studying and homework at home so you do not have to sit on a dirty floor.
I tell my 4-year-old not to do it, but apparently young college students cannot stand for 5 minutes either.
So NIU, please stand up!
P.S. There are benches located right when you walk into the building.
